Welcome to Vad lab

Planktonic organisms play pivotal roles in aquatic food webs, therefore, global change-related shift in their communities can have far-reaching consequences for the functioning of aquatic ecosystems. Our lab primarily focuses on phytoplankton and zooplankton, their interactions, and their responses to anthropogenic stressors to understand the community and ecosystem-level consequences of environmental change. To achieve this, we study a wide range of inland waters (from freshwater to saline habitats), combine field data and experimental approaches to test ecological theories, and forecast changes by numerical modelling.
